Films and Television may by far be the most profitable business for
Balaji with a slew of hits to its title and also multiple prime time TV
slots, but Balaji seems to be eyeing for something more. In fact Ekta
Kapoor's Balaji Group has now entered Mumbai's real estate market.
While this may make a few sit up and take notice, the decision comes despite the downturn that has stalled many construction projects and ventures. Already in the pipeline are two projects, a commercial complex in Chandivli, Andheri East, and a residential one in Mira Road - both handled by yesteryear actor Jeetandra under the name of Balaji Developers and JK Developers.
The project in Andheri is being executed through a joint venture with Hiranandani, comprises of two towers that stand on land partly owned by Jeetendra. While the project in Mira Road, is still in the planning process.
