The untimely demise of filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's mother on
Saturday evening could have brought to a halt the shooting schedule of
Mehra's Bhaag Milkha Bhaag in Ladakh. Precious time that would
have been hard to retrieve, were it not for Mehra's leading man Farhan
Akhtar, who promised to keep the shooting going on uninterrupted in
Mehra's absence.
Says a source close to the unit, "In terms of working hours and days, the Ladakh schedule of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has been compactly clocked. Every minute lost is precious time gone. But alas, time and tragedy don't follow schedules. On Sunday morning, Rakeysh had to fly back to Delhi from Ladakh after hearing of his mother's death. The good thing about casting a director as your leading man is that the double-role as hero and director comes in handy during such eventualities."
Rakeysh flew in to Delhi on Sunday morning and flew back on Monday evening. But the shooting continued in Ladakh uninterrupted.
